Mediothek Media House Herat has successfully conducted a two-day workshop on basic journalism, 15 local journalists who are currently working as reporters and correspondents with local media in this province, participated in the workshop. The aim of conducting this workshop was to train journalists on the principles of journalism. During the two-day workshop participants received training on both theoretical and practical aspects of the topics namely ethics of journalism, news writing skills, news sources and also interview skills.
“Before this Basic Journalism workshop I had lots of problems in news writing and this workshop was a good opportunity for me to learn more topics on basic journalism and I learned lots of news issues from this workshop.” Said Saifullah, a participant.
The Basic Journalism workshop successfully ended with the distribution of certificates and all the participants enjoyed with no sign of boredom. All the topics discussed were interesting for them.
Mediothek Media houses have been providing capacity-building programs for the past couple of years, and this workshop serves as a sample of the capacity-building efforts.
This workshop was organized by Mediothek Afghanistan in Media House Herat and it was conducted on 30th -31st of March 2013.
