Environmental problems in Afghanistan

War and political upheavals are not the only things that Afghanistan has been affected by for the past forty constant years. With the loss of national and regional organizations, the natural resources of this country have also been affected and the fact that nearly 80% of people directly depend on these resources, can not be ignored. At the same time, the world suffers from climate change and this change unfortunately left a negative impact on Afghanistan’s agricultural products by a number of factors. For example, drought, flood, storm and nearly unbearable winter. The drought reduced the surface of the groundwater, and the sea embodies less water and even seared. Lack of sanitation and hygiene water supply system has also been two of the vivid vulnerable factors.
In addition to above, forestation was also adversely affected. Trees were cut for different purposes. Not only that, but animals too were not safe.
With frequent and exhausted efforts in these days, environmental issues are discussed by the Government, civil society and the people of Afghanistan as a result of which THE GREEN MOVEMENT was formed. The people of the gay air-contaminated substances are the result of the quality fuels and the effects of the plaintiff. The forestry and elimination of green areas that have been flowing from a few decades in the country, potentially affected their live. Lack of proper management and water regulation impacted people in Afghanistan and in particular residents of the Kabul.
Unfortunately, the general level of people’s information on climate change, climate and its adverse effects is very low. However, much attention has shifted to climatic changes in the past, but that is not to a considerable level and thus more attention is required and greater efforts are needed to bring about positive changes. There is no doubt that media plays a prominent role in dissemination of information about climate change challenges. People are required to gain more knowledge and understand what climate change is and what are the positive and negative impacts of it on people’s lives on everyday basis. We, therefore, deem this venial to make sure people via any TV channel or media sources must be give greater awareness on this matter.
Fortunately, the media in Afghanistan plays an eye-catching role, and this is it is one of the most effective sources to extend environmental awareness to people and address people toward their responsibilities as individuals and motivate them to do their best in a collective way to ensure a health and better society.
Journalism environment and environmental reporting have great importance. Therefore, reporters are highly expected and required to provide and produce handful amount of articles in regards with environmental protection so they people start thinking about its significance and take the needed steps for improvement.
The environmental reporters are capable and unconditionally able to encourage and inspire their other people in their families, neighborhood, communities and in their societies to bring about positive changes and cultivate positive behavior and attitude to protect environment.
The environment reporters are expected to act as the agents of change to improve the environment and take the necessary steps to ensure good environment. They are responsible for educating people about these topics and using the power of media to improve air quality, water, wildlife and natural resources, and ensure noticeable changes.
The program has been designed to develop the capacity of Afghan local reporters in producing high-quality professional materials and to enable them to be effective in terms of environmental issues. Not only that, they ought to do some serious and extended investigation too and provide investigative reports about the challenges on lack of environmental protections and other associates factors. They can bring their findings in the form of reports, writings, articles, discussions, interviews, speeches, and any other forms with an aim to share their findings with public and suggest solutions to overcome this challenge: s
