In the continuation of “Civil Society Cohesion Building on Afghan Peace Process ” Mediothek Afghanistan successfully organized a two-day workshop in Zabul province. Two-day workshop ” Civil Society Cohesion Building on Afghan Peace Process ” After registering the participants, welcoming and presenting the workshop protocol, pre-training evaluation, and outlining the program’s goals, the trainers continued their work according to the pre-planned agenda. Many of the issues and difficulties, the participants believed, stemmed from the lack of stability and the continuation of the war. The following topics were discussed by the participants during the programs.
• The benefits of peace
• Information and views were exchanged on the role of civil society in peace.
• Establishing a practical mechanism and plan for the problems of peace and its solution, at the end of the workshop, the participants were re-evaluated and it was fully understood that the workshop trainer, Wahma Tokhi, was fulfilling his responsibilities with complete honesty.
Peace?
Peace is the guarantor of social justice, peaceful life, comfort, security, and protection of women’s rights. Habiba the CEO of Tranak Orognization said that “that we have many problems for peace, for example, corruption, personal enmity, loss of power of tyrants, oppression of tyrants against the people.” The other participants also shared ideas on solutions, saying that tribal elders, influential people, the media, and civil society should be used, and that programs should be provided to them. In the name of peace, important places should be named, and women should be given peace programs, so that everyone can be encouraged for peace and understand the benefits and importance of peace.
The vision of peace after group work:
Group A.
• All-inclusive peace that protects women’s rights
• Providing a comfortable living environment for the community
• Consider the principle of equality
• Giving people a sense of well-being and comfort
Group B
• A peace that respects human rights in the light of Islam
• Respect for the rule of law, universal justice, security and peace of the people,
• Peace of warring factions,
• Removal of monopoly groups
Provincial Plan:
• Convincing the consensus of local scholars
• Utilizing influential people of the province in the peace process
• Conducting seminars in educational centers and public places
• Increasing the number of peace media announcements and activities
• Conducting sports programs under the title of peace
• Conducting women’s seminars
Suggestions:
We are looking at our provincial plan very carefully, and we hope that our provincial plan will continue to work, so that we too can show our ability in the peace process and work for peace.
