Media House Kunduz organized a roundtable on the 29th of August of 2013 to discus the role of media and journalists in strengthening the on going peace process while acting as professionals and in a journalistically correct way. Participants discussed a wide range of important issues that journalists face and the achievements and challenges that exist along the way of the peace council. The secretary of the high peace council of Kunduz province was also a participant of the program, representing the peace council.
Ten journalists working with local and national media organizations participated in the workshop. The aim of the workshop was to provide an opportunity for journalists to discuss the important issue of peace and the ongoing peace process with a representative of the high peace council.
Mediothek Afghanistan and media house Kunduz has been working with local and international journalists, trainers, and institutions to promote the concept of peace journalism. It has conducted several workshops and training programs on peace and conflict-sensitive journalism.
