Community and media center Kabul held a huge culture gathering in Kabul. The gathering was organized on the first of Sep. of 2013. Around ninety experts, literary figurers, university professors, historians, activists, journalists and female and male students participated in the special gathering.
The gathering was organized to discuss folklore of the Pashto language and critique a newly published book “Pashto Folklore Guide” by Mohammad Dawoud Wafa, a lecture at literature faculty of Nangarhar University.
Pashto language is a rich folkloric language said an expert and speaker at the program, still it is uncovered, a lot of works need to be done. Pashto folklore is still mostly spoken and not written, it is an urgency to write, and translate and introduce this richness to out people and the wider world.
Several speakers talked about the significance of Afghan and Pashto folklore and critiqued the newly published book, hailing it as a masterpiece in the genre.
Medoithek Afghanistan has been working with journalists, civil society institutions, youth associations and international organizations focusing on promoting democracy, media development and human rights issues. In addition, Mediothek Afghanistan has been also working with cultural institutions, young writers and poets in promoting their works through organizing and literature.
