“Afghanistan Emroz Roundtable”
“Civil Society and the issue of Afghanistan’s Presidential Elections” was the title of a discussion, organized by the “Afghanistan Emroz” Media and Publishing Center in Mediothek Afghanistan’s Central office on 15th of September 2013.
The roundtable was facilitated by Mediothek’s media coordinator Mr. Baseer Tahseen and the following dignitaries participated in it.
Professor Shahla Fareed, Lecturer in Kabul University and a civil activist.
Shah Mahmood Mal from FEFA (The Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan)
Doctor Habibullah Qaderi, A lecturer and civil activist
Mr. Mohammad Qasem Rahmani Legal Advisor of Nai Supporting Afghanistan Open Media.
Mr. Baqi Samandar an activist from Afghanistan’s civil society.
The Participants discussed and exchanged thoughts on the following three fronts.
What definition can be presented of the Civil Society of Afghanistan?
The Presidential Elections and the preparation process towards it “will the elections be held?”
Civil Society of Afghanistan and the upcoming elections (How should the role of civil society be promoted in holding fair and transparent elections).
The main points of this discussion will soon be published on Afghanistan Emroz’s Website (afghanistantoday.org) and via Nanany Afghanistan Weekly publication.
