Afghan-Pakistani Youth Ambassadors for Peace Launched Seminar on History and Politics

Mediothek Afghanistan launched the first seminar of a long series of seminars on history and politics of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The series of seminars and subsequent follow-up SWOT Analysis, dialogue with political decision-makers, outreach workshops and several other programs and events are being organized in the framework of the Afghan-Pakistani Youth Ambassadors for Peace initiative in the course of 2019. The first “Seminar on History and Politics” officially launched on 20 May 2019 in Kabul and more than 30 young activists including university students, civil society activists, young journalists and representative’s youth groups from across the country participated in the seminars.
The seminar opened with a welcoming remark by Hamidullah Zazai, Mediothek Afghanistan Coordinator, he laid out the main objectives of the Afghan-Pakistan Youth Ambassadors for Peace initiative and its various components in 2019 including the “Seminars on History and Politics”. Mr. Zazai elaborated that in the context of the Afghan-Pakistan Youth Ambassadors for Peace initiative in 2019, Mediothek is planning to conduct a series of seminars and training workshops, peace festivals and other events in Afghanistan and Pakistan and this is the first seminars being organized in Kabul and it will be followed by a similar seminal in Islamabad.
The seminar in history and politics will continue for three days bringing together renowned experts, university lecturers, strategists, academics, lawmakers and policy-makers from academic institutions (governmental and non-governmental) to lecture and help the participants learn about the history, politics, culture, society, traditions, and geography of the other side. Participants of seminars in Pakistan will learn about Afghanistan and Afghan participants will learn about Pakistan and the current seminar is about the history and politics of Pakistan.
The aim is to provide an open platform for young academics, civil society activists and students in Afghanistan and Pakistan to engage in constructive learning and sharing of experiences and work together for a prosperous and peaceful region, a region where dialogue, reason and mutual cooperation prevails.
