Community and media center Kunduz in partnership with local media institutions organized an open space event to mark the International Journalist Day.
Each year this day Afghan journalists and media representatives across the country come together to convey their challenges to officials and international community and discus the challenges and problems they endured in the course of the past year and also exchange their views and opinions about finding solutions for the challenge.
More than one hundred guest among them journalists, government officials, representatives of international organizations, members of civil society participated in the event which was held in the Abdan Desert, a very lush and green picnic destination at this time of the year.
Several guests representing various media and government institutions talked about the role and achievements and challenges of media representatives and journalists over the past one decade.
Subsequently certificates of appreciation were distributed to governmental and non-governmental institutions for their persistent support and assistance if journalists. Some journalists were also awarded certificates and trophies for outstanding performance in the course of the past twelve months.
Similarly, Community and media center Kunduz marked this day last year as well.
Apart from its formal programs of capacity building and advocacy activities, Mediothek Afghanistan has been providing opportunities for journalists, civil society and government officials to come together and discuses shared issues face to face and analyze the common challenges.
